Will My Credits Transfer?

The University of North Dakota has dozens of agreements with two-year campuses across the region. These may be helpful if you are transfering from these particular institutions.

Your courses or institution(s) may not be found in the group of articulation agreements.

If you have credits from a regionally-accredited institution, all college-level credits with a passing grade easily transfer to UND. Academic departments will determine how credits apply to your specific major. Once we've reviewed your application for admission, we'll give you a complete transfer assessment.

UND also has dozens of articulation agreements with two-year colleges across the region. If you've completed an Associate of Arts degree or general education requirements at another North Dakota University System (NDUS) school, it counts the same as if you completed the general education requirements at UND.

We also gladly participate in the General Education Requirements Transfer Agreement (GERTA) with other North Dakota institutions. If you've finished general education requirements at another North Dakota school recognized by GERTA, have the school send proof to the UND registrar's office on your behalf to transfer the credits.

If you're transferring from one of Minnesota's MnSCU institutions, you will have satisfied UND's general education requirements if either of the following conditions is met during or after 2001:

  1. You've completed a Bachelor's Degree or an Associate of Arts degree program at an MnSCU institution; or
  2. You've completed the 39-44 credits of MnSCU general education requirements (MnTransfer Curriculum) as verified by the MnSCU institution.

If you don't meet one of these conditions, we'll happily evaluate your transfer credits on an individual, course-by-course basis.

See For Yourself

Come for a personal tour tailored to your needs as an advanced student. If you'd like to visit with faculty from your academic area of interest or sit in on a class, we'll arrange it for you.

Jeff Bradford

"When arriving at UND, I was greeted by the nicest, most fun-loving people I've ever met. After my second year, I was accepted to a prominent technical institute on the East Coast. I decided to stay in North Dakota. A big factor was that I had made so many friends here and found it easy to call Grand Forks home. An additional bonus- the size and services UND offered versus the cost made it a better value than most colleges."
