ScholarshipsScholarships are automatically offered to students who are admitted and eligible. We'll make the offer to students once an admission decision has been made. In addition to grants and loans, UND awards more than 2,000 scholarships each year totaling nearly $3 million. You may qualify for more than 700 new student scholarships for academic merit ranging from $250 to $3,000. There are also scholarships for returning students. Freshman StudentsThere are many scholarships available for freshman students. You must apply for all UND freshman scholarships by February 5 for priority consideration. Freshman Presidential Scholarships:UND offers generous awards from $10,000 to $20,000 over four years for honor students who have achieved an ACT composite score of at least 29 and have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.65 or higher. The largest scholarship awards are for National Merit Finalists. National Merit Finalist*: $20,000 ($5,000/year)
Presidential Scholars are guaranteed residence hall housing and early registration for their incoming fall semester. *In addition to the Presidential Scholar award, National Merit Finalists sponsored by UND will receive an annual stipend of $1,000 per year from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. One-Year New Freshman Honor Scholarships:Our one-year awards for incoming freshmen range from $250 to $1,000. These are determined by a combination of standardized test scores and cumulative high school GPA. Transfer Student ScholarshipsStudents transferring to UND from another college or university can qualify for many transfer student scholarships. The application deadline is April 15. Departmental ScholarshipsSome of UND's academic departments also offer scholarships. For more information, contact the departments directly. Financial AidFinancial aid is awarded on the basis of financial need. UND has generous financial aid. Our students receive a share of many millions of dollars each year. And, we work hard to find financial resources to help you succeed. The most accurate way to know how much financial aid you're eligible for is to complete the FAFSA application in January, before the fall semester.
